چکیده

In this study, a novel succinic acid producing bacterium was isolated from cow bovine rumen. Two bacteria’s are found to give better results for the production of succinic acid from the isolated colonies. Different synthetic carbon sources such as glucose, sucrose, fructose, dextrose, starch and cellulose and different crude carbon sources such as rice straw, sorghum stalk, baggase and sugar mill waste were studied. The fermentation process was carried out under CO2 atmosphere with N2 gas. The effect of pH, temperature and initial dextrose concentration were studied and optimized. The optimum fermentation conditions for the newly isolated strain were found to be: pH – 6.5, Temperature – 30C, Initial dextrose concentration – 10 g/L. At these optimized condition, the maximum production of succinic acid was found to be 15g/l.

The metabolism of succinic acid in the rumen of the sheep.

Succinic acid is a major end product of two cellulose-fermenting bacteria isolated in pure culture from the rumen of cattle and sheep. Ruminococcus flavefaciens, isolated by Sijpesteijn (1948, 1949, 1951), produced some 0-5 m-mole succinic acid per m-mole cellulose (calculated as glucose) fermented. Bacteroides succinogenes, isolated from the bovine rumen by Hungate (1950), was found by this au...

Isolation and characterization of a new osmotolerant, non-virulent Klebsiella pneumoniae strain SAP for biosynthesis of succinic acid.

In the present study, isolation of anaerobic bacteria from 24 different eco-niches was carried out. A total number of 300 bacterial isolates, including 230 obligate and 70 facultative anaerobes were obtained using anaerobic techniques. All the isolates were initially screened for succinic acid production by Fluorescein test and TLC method. During screening, 10 isolates found to produce succinic...

Recovery of succinic acid produced by fermentation of a metabolically engineered Mannheimia succiniciproducens strain.

There have recently been much advances in the production of succinic acid, an important four-carbon dicarboxylic acid for many industrial applications, by fermentation of several natural and engineered bacterial strains. Mannheimia succiniciproducens MBEL55E isolated from bovine rumen is able to produce succinic acid with high efficiency, but also produces acetic, formic and lactic acids just l...

Batch and continuous cultures of Mannheimia succiniciproducens MBEL55E for the production of succinic acid from whey and corn steep liquor.

Mannheimia succiniciproducens MBEL55E isolated from bovine rumen is able to produce a large amount of succinic acid in a medium containing glucose, peptone, and yeast extract. In order to reduce the cost of the medium, whey and corn steep liquor (CSL) were used as substrates for the production of succinic acid by M. succiniciproducens MBEL55E. Anaerobic batch cultures of M. succiniciproducens M...

Complete Genome Sequence of Actinobacillus succinogenes GXAS137, a Highly Efficient Producer of Succinic Acid

The bacterium Actinobacillus succinogenes GXAS137, an efficient producer of succinic acid, was isolated from bovine rumen in Nanning, Guangxi Province, China. Here, we present the 2.3-Mb genome assembly of this strain, which consists of 2,314,479 bp (G+C content of 44.89%) with a circular chromosome, 2,235 DNA coding sequences, 57 tRNAs, and 15 rRNAs.
